Hi Guys, what a wonderful winters day, we had 78 members attending today, which was a great turn-out considering the amount of people who are down with the flu. Poor Lyn Tansley was one of those suffering from the flu, and then she unfortunately fell over at home and sustained a head injury. She was taken to hospital, and we all trust that it is nothing too serious, and wish her a speedy recovery.
Another member in hospital is Nancy de Lowe, she is awaiting a hip operation, so get well soon Nancy and we hope to see you soon back in the Golden Group.
Nancy de Louw, happy in her boating gear.
Our excellent bus trip to Ashhurst, was made all the sweeter as we received a donation from to go towards the cost of our transport. We truly appreciate the assistance they have given us in the past and look forward to continuing our good relationship.

The Christmas Dinner in December will be held at Southwards Museum, a new venue for us, but the same caterer as we had used for the last couple of years. Southwards is very user friendly, where you drive you car up to the front door to unload your passengers, before you park the car. There is also a lift to the first floor restaurant, and another bonus, they are BYO. We will be talking this over in committee, as well as booking some entertainment. The suggestion at the moment is to have a live Jazz band playing. I will keep you informed.
Lorraine’s annual trip is well on the way, with a small waiting list ready to snap up any places that become vacant. If you would like to put your name on the 6 day trip to the Coromandel Peninsula, please speak to Lorraine, she would happy to hear from you.
