June Luncheon 2012

Hi Guys

Thanks for your comments it really helps, keep them coming.

It was a wild, wet and windy Wednesday, what better place to be than the warm and snug rooms in the Kapiti Club. We had 77 at the luncheon today, a fairly low number and even lower than we had expected. We had ordered 82 lunches with the chef, so that is how many we had to pay for. What happened to the five people who said they were coming and did not arrive remains a mystery. They will be contacted and asked why they could not attend. Even if you wake up and are not feeling well on the day, please call us and we can then talk to the chef and see if we can alter the number of meals required.

Thank you to the people who have kindly offered to help others in getting to the club in times of need. The good Samaritans are, Greg Day, Alyson Hayward, Ngaire Dodd, Gwyn Gunn and Inez Jacob. The committee is appreciative for your kind offer.

Also thanks to all those who signed the submission forms for the proposed change to the gaming laws, which could have serious effects on our group having access to these funds, if the goal posts are moved.

A lot of people today gave us their email addresses, thanks for that, it will make it easier for us to keep in touch with you, and also advise you of updates to this blog.

Our Speaker today was Jeanie Morrison-Low, from Kapiti Hearing. Jeanie gave us a great speech today about brain power and how we, as older folks, can exercise our brains and keep us healthier and fitter, as we travel further into old age.
